BALLET BALLADS
One of the seminal works of the American musical theater, Ballet Ballads was the first collaboration of composer Jerome Moross and lyricist John Latouche. Its premiere in 1948 in New York City received consistently rave reviews and was heralded as a breakthrough in the genre. While the work is made up of four separate acts with distinctly different themes and stories, it has never been performed in its entirety.
GENTLEMEN, BE SEATED
Gentlemen, Be Seated!, written during the Jim Crow Era and premiered at the start of the Civil Rights movement, presents in musical form, the unglorified, historical racism of the War Between the States. Music was composed by JEROME MOROSS with lyrics by Edward Eager. It was completed in 1956 and produced and presented by New York City Opera in 1963. This is the complete vocal score.
